How we roll – Team Edition

At TechJumpstart Hub CIC, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Your time, skills, and passion play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission of empowering underrepresented groups through digital inclusion. Our volunteer policy is designed to ensure that your experience with us is fulfilling, rewarding, and well-supported.

Our Commitment to Volunteers

  • Support and Training: All volunteers will receive an induction and any relevant training to help them feel confident in their role. Ongoing support is available from our team throughout your time with us.
  • Flexibility: We understand that life can be busy, so our roles are designed to fit around your availability. There is no obligation to remain in a role beyond the suggested duration.
  • Recognition: We value our volunteers and will celebrate your contributions, including opportunities for feedback, testimonials, and recognition in our community.
  • Inclusive Environment: We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

What We Expect from Volunteers

  • Commitment to Our Mission: We ask that volunteers share our passion for digital inclusion and empowerment, working collaboratively to achieve our goals.
  • Communication: Keeping us informed about your availability and any challenges ensures that we can provide the right support and resources for your role.
  • Respect and Confidentiality: As part of our team, volunteers are expected to uphold our values of respect, integrity, and discretion when working with sensitive information or engaging with beneficiaries.

Reimbursement of Expenses

We believe volunteering should not come at a personal cost. Volunteers are entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred while carrying out their role, such as:

  • Travel expenses for in-person meetings or events.
  • Lunch or refreshments during extended volunteering hours.

All expense claims must be submitted with receipts in line with our volunteer reimbursement policy.

Volunteering is Voluntary

It’s important to note that volunteering with TechJumpstart Hub CIC is entirely voluntary and does not create an employment relationship. There are no contractual obligations, and volunteers are free to leave at any time. Our policy ensures clear boundaries to protect both volunteers and the organisation.

Volunteer Feedback

Your insights are invaluable to us. We encourage volunteers to provide feedback about their experiences, which helps us improve our programmes and ensure the best possible environment for everyone involved.
